Welcome to the Keith + Karen fanlisting, approved by the one and only fanlistings.org! A fanlisting is a collective of people who have a particular affinity for...well, for just about anything, really. Keith and Karen are characters from the PS2 game Disaster Report, a fairly obscure game that I really enjoyed. Basically you are escaping an island that has fallen victim to a devastating earthquake, and as you struggle to get out alive you meet others and uncover the true story behind the island's birth and death. You (playing as Keith) meet Karen very early in the game, when you save her from a dangling train car. The two of you then make your way through the quickly crumbling city, saving her dog Gen along the way -- opting to do so is one of the big "win Karen's heart" moments -- and eventually meeting up with other survivors. (One of the other survivors is a young girl you can choose to go on with instead of Karen, which baffles me -- you've risked your life for Karen [and her dog] and come this far with her, why would you suddenly go off with someone you've just met?) You can do other things, like giving her your umbrella when it rains, and at one point you unconsciously start holding her hand. :) The images accompanying this paragraph were taken from the game's official Japanese website, which has a couple of interesting tabloid-like pages about the possible love arcs.
